The Motor Sports Association, Britain's governing body�for all motor sport, in 2007 reaffirmed its commitment to British�racing talent by launching an�elite driver training programme to incorporate all UK racing formulae, whether GT, touring car or single-seater. Now in its second year, the MSA British Race Elite�offers the most promising British racing drivers the opportunity to join a�programme to develop their skills and give them the best possible chance of making the step up to the highest levels. As well as working on track performance, engineering skills and technical understanding, the drivers will also be developing the vital additional areas such as physical training, mind coaching, career management, sponsorship generation, promotion and media presentation that complete the all-round package of the modern motor racing driver.
In 2008, the drivers on the scheme are Henry Arundel (British F3�Championship); Sam Bird (F3�Euro Series); Stuart Hall (Le Mans Series); Andrew Jordan (British Touring Car Championship); Andy Meyrick (British F3 Championship/national class); Alexander Sims (Formula Renault UK�Championship).��Also introduced this year is the MSA British Race Academy and four young drivers, all hoping to gain a place on the Elite scheme in the future,�have been�selected for its�inaugural year:� Jack Clarke (Formula Palmer Audi); James Cole (British Formula Ford); Ollie Millroy and Rupert Svendsen-Cook (Formula BMW Euro Series).�����

The MSA British Race Elite programme is�operated by Brabham Performance Clinic, fronted by one of the world's renowned international racing drivers, David Brabham, and leading mind coach and sponsorship guru, Don Macpherson.

Programme Profile

The programme�covers all areas of physical and mental preparation and training, track performance and development, technical and engineering awareness in areas such as engine, gearbox, suspension, tyres and electronics. It�also brings in experts to advise on career management, media and promotional activities, sponsorship and presentations training.

Partners include the University of Bath's Department of Sports Development, currently involved in training Olympic athletes, Avon Tyres, Hewland Engineering, Multimatic, Wirth Research�and Zytek who�will all be involved from a technical point of view. THB Clowes and Arbuthnot Latham Private Bank will offer valuable advice on insurance and finance, while the Brabham Performance Clinic's own experts will offer mind training plus tips on how to deal with the media and sponsorship presentations.�
